Dear Cousin Tim,
Happy Birthday—can you see all the black balloons? They are for you! 60 years is a real milestone in one's life. The kids are grown, the mortgage is paid down, and life is just a bowl of cherries!
I do remember things about you that I enjoyed. When we would see each other, it seemed no time had passed. We talked about projects and “want to do things”. You always were building something that made me wish I could be right there with you. The dream was to build something together and take it either to the drags or to a show.
About 40 years ago, I remember one night Brenda and I were watching TV. We were living in Grandma and Grandpa’s house on 27. We had a knock at the door and Brenda looked out the window as she turned on the outside light. She turned to me and said “get up—there are 2 hippies at the door”! I went to look not wanting to unlock the door yet and saw two faces that I thought I might recognize in the middle of all that hair. Sure enough I told Brenda– “those aren’t hippies—they’re my cousins”! Somehow your “mail truck” had run out of gas. Soon we had some gas from the barn and you and Steve were on your way. As I think about it, I bet you wish as I do, that you could grow hair that well again.
It’s good that we can talk about spiritual things together--to share our prayer requests and enjoy the truths of God’s Word. Even though you Mom is gone and we don’t have a line into the Bowden family as before, we know of the great reunion in heaven that is waiting for us.
May God bless your 60th birthday and many more to follow!
With love,
Sam and Brenda
