Buzz & Kelly Barr

Happy Birthday Tim!!!

What a great friend you have been to me and my family. It's been a blast having a crazy man like you as a friend, and I mean crazy as a great complement. ha ha!

You have been such a HUGE blessing to us as you have become known to us as "MacGyver the Mechanic" after having our many vehicles pushed or towed to your house. I remember times that I was ready to call a tow truck to have my car towed to the junk yard but you would say "Just give me second to look at it and I will see what I can do." Then I would stand there, pretty much useless, as you would begin to work away on the car.

Three times stand out vividly in my mind and still make me smile. Once we needed a special tool to get a bolt off of my car, but instead of spending the $50 for a specialty tool you said "I think I can make one!" Then you began to cut scrap pieces of metal from your garage floor until you had the perfect MacGyver tool. Another time you laid in a pool of gas under my car with a welder trying to get my gas lines back in place on top of my old rusty gas tank. I knew at any moment you were going to blow us both up or at least set you house on fire, but you said you had good insurance and kept on going until you fixed it. See what I mean by a crazy man? ha ha!

The third memory I have is you driving over to my house, where my nephew had brought his broken-down Jeep. The motor mount on one side was broken and the engine had fallen onto the inner fender. You brought over a chain and a piece of old 2x4 lumber to repair it. The crazy thing is that you fixed it with those items and that it lasted a whole year before he got it fixed correctly. Who else would come up with these types of solutions? Only MacGyver the Mechanic! Thanks so much for helping us get our cars back on the road. Your skills and attitude have proven to be a huge blessing to me and my family.

The stories could continue about so many other things, from trying to kill my kids as you pulled them on the tube at the lake, to the great fun I had riding motorcycles with you or how you made it from your house to the auto parts store in what seemed like 45 seconds because you knew the shortcuts through the neighborhood and could do 90 mph. ha ha!

I appreciate you, your friendship and your wild ideas of how to fix or build things. Hope you have a great birthday and we look forward to many more crazy man stories.
